            To enhance professionalism, the NBI held its annual command conference on August 7-9, 2008 at the Fontana Leisure Park, Clarkfield, Pampanga.

            The conference was attended by Bureau officials lead by Director Nestor M. Mantaring, deputy directors, regional directors, agents-in-charge, and division chiefs. Agenda centered on three global concerns and authorities on said subjects where invited.

            Resource speakers include DFA Ambassador, Fortunato D. Oblena who spoke on Protocol; Hon. DOJ Undersecretary Ricardo R. Blancaflor, Anti-Terrorism; Atty. Ivan John Uy and NBI Head Agent Palmer Mallari, Cyber Crimes; DOJ Asst. Sr. State Prosecutor Hon. Lilian Doris S. Alejo, Anti-Human Trafficking; and OPS Usec. for Broadcast Martin Antonio S. Crisostomo, Media Relations;

            The different services – Special Investigation Services, Regional Operations Services, Intelligence Services, Administrative Services, Technical Services and Comptroller Services conducted powerpoint presentation. They consist of accomplishments for the first half of 2008, plans, programs and other related concerns.

            In his message, Director Mantaring expressed deep satisfaction for the highly successful conference which brought together key officials nationwide. He underscored that success of the set goals and objectives can only be achieved if there is continued cohesiveness among the workforce, for the NBI is one big team.

            A command conference is called yearly to determine the operational and administrative needs of the Bureau.
