The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) issued today a stern warning to motorists who continue to display the NBI 75th anniversary commemorative plates in their vehicles which have expired in April this year. In a statement released, the NBI said that the Department of Transportation and Communication (DOTC) in a letter dated June 8, 2012 disapproved a previous request to extend the validity period of the two (2) plates issued by the NBI on the occasion of its 75th anniversary in November last year. The two (2) plates are:
The NBI strongly advises all motorists whose vehicle still sport said plates to immediately remove them from their cars to avoid getting entangled with authorities. Vehicle owners who refuse to dismantle these expired commemorative plates face criminal liability.
