A call center trainee who presented a fake NBI clearance and wanted for a string of cases was finally caught by agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in Quezon City yesterday.

The subject was identified as RUBIO, MICHAEL PAUL CHRIS JR y ALCANTARA. 24. A resident of 438 Sct. Delgado, Brgy. Laging Handa, Quezon City.

Prior to his apprehension, a multi-national call center company under which he is presently on-the-job training requested the NBI to authenticate his clearance certificate. The NBI through its clearance verification process found said clearance certificate to be fake.

Further, NBI record check made on subject Rubio disclosed that he has numerous standing warrant of arrest under the name Michael Paul Chris A. Rubio in the following:

At 1:00 a.m. yesterday, NBI agents proceeded to Rubio's workplace, a call-center in Cubao, Quezon City. By virtue of said warrants of arrest, NBI agents arrested Rubio

Appropriate charges will be filed against subject Rubio and deeper probe will also be conducted to identify the cohorts behind the fake NBI clearance certificate. He is now detained at the NBI jail.

In the wake of this and similar incidents in the past, the NBI is issuing a stern warning to unscrupulous persons to avoid dealing with fixers in securing NBI clearance. Individuals found presenting or in possession of fake NBI clearance will be dealt with the full force of the law.
