  1. WHAT WILL I BRING WHEN I APPLY FOR AN NBI CLEARANCE ?

-                  You should bring a valid Identification Card (ID) for authentication of your name or original copy of your previous NBI    Clearance for renewal.

  1. I WAS ALREADY ISSUED NBI CLEARANCE IN 1994. I NEED TO SUBMIT A NEW ONE. WHAT WILL I DO ?

-                                                     You may renew your NBI Clearance at the following Offices :

Ø      NBI Clearance Center (Carriedo Plaza, Carriedo cor Estero Cegado Sts. Sta. Cruz, Manila)

Ø      NBI Satellite Offices.

Ø      NBI Regional / District Offices

Ø      NBI Kiosk - accept renewal of clearance applied from 1998 to present  provided that barcode is still clear and readable by the computer. Kiosk accept changes only in address and purpose of clearance, else write Same Data if there are no changes. Kiosk does not accept photo attached. If there would changes in your NAME, DATE OF BIRTH and PLACE OF BIRTH, we will advise you to come personally at the NBI Clearance Center or at any NBI Satellite Office to fill-up a new application form and attached a photocopy of your birth certificate.

-                   Bring the original copy of your previous clearance certificate. Presenting previous copy of your clearance will save you one step, fingerprinting

  1. I AM A VERY BUSY PERSON, BUT I NEED TO RENEW MY CLEARANCE. CAN OUR MESSENGER OR RELATIVE DO THIS FOR ME ?

-                  Yes, You can send your authorized representative at the following Offices:

Ø      NBI Clearance Center (Carriedo Plaza, Carriedo cor Estero Cegado Sts., Sta. Cruz, Manila)

Ø      NBI Satellite Offices

Ø      NBI Regional / District Offices

However, be sure to that your authorized representative have  the original copy of your previous clearance certificate and attach your latest 2x2 picture (white background). Update the information that needs to be updated. We accept changes in address and purpose of clearance, else write Same Data if there are no changes. If there would changes in your NAME, DATE OF BIRTH and PLACE OF BIRTH, we will require you to come personally to fill-up a new application form and attached a photocopy of your birth certificate.

-         NBI KIOSKS – does not accept renewal of clearance handed by your representative,  even without corrections, they will take your picture personally.  It does not accept any correction in NAME, DATE OF BIRTH and PLACE OF BIRTH.

  1. CAN I SEND A PHOTOCOPY OF MY NBI CLEARANCE ?

-                  No, we no longer accept photocopy of clearance.

  1. I AM PRESENTLY WORKING ABROAD. HOW CAN I GET A NBI CLEARANCE WITHOUT GOING HOME TO THE PHILIPPINES ?

-                  You can visit the nearest Philippine Consulate Office and asked for a Fingerprint Card Form.

a.)    Fingerprint Card Form – fill up the personal data called for on both sides of this card truthfully and legibly.

b.)    Request the assistance/endorsement of the nearest Philippines Consulate Office for the police agency in your locality to have your fingerprints impressed (ROLLED IMPRESSION) on the appropriate spaces. The officer/person who fingerprinted you should sign his name state his official designation on the space provided for the purpose in the card.

c.)    In case you are a married woman, the order of writing your name is as follows:

c.1) Your maiden surname (father’s surname).

c.2)  Your husband’s surname.

            c.3)  Your first name or given name.

            c.4)  Your maternal surname (family name of your mother)

d.)    Attach a latest copy of your 2”x2” photograph (white background), taken within three (3) months before this application at the appropriate box in the fingerprint card form.

Upon completion of this requirement, please send back your form to us and enclose Money Order in the sum of Php 200.00 or any currency/bankdraft of its equivalent which is negotiable in the Philippines payable to the Director, National Bureau of Investigation, Taft Avenue, Ermita 1000 Manila, Philippines.

            We will mail to you the corresponding clearance certificate after we have processed your application papers.

            Upon receipt of your clearance certificate, please examine it for the presence of the embossed NBI DRY SEAL at its lower left portion, the clearance is invalid without it. Also, you must affix your clear and properly taken THUMBPRINT on the space provided for it in the clearance certificate before submitting it to your end-user, otherwise, your clearance will be subjected for further verification/authentication and will cause the delay of your immigration requirements.

  1. I HAVE BEEN LIVING IN ABROAD SINCE 1998 AND WOULD LIKE TO RENEW MY NBI CLEARANCE. HOW WOULD I GO ABOUT THAT WITHOUT LEAVING ABROAD ?

-                 Just  send your previously issued clearance, attach a latest copy of your 2”x 2” photograph (white background), taken within three (3) months and  enclose Money Order in the sum of Php 200.00 or any currency/bankdraft of its equivalent which is negotiable in the Philippines payable to the Director, National Bureau of Investigation, Taft Avenue, Ermita 1000 Manila, Philippines. 

-         You may also send your authorized representative in any of the following Offices

Ø      NBI Clearance Center in Carriedo

Ø      NBI Satellite Offices

Ø      NBI Regional / District Offices

to process your NBI Clearance, together with your previously issued clearance, attach a latest copy of your 2”x 2” photograph (white background), taken within three (3) months. Update the information that needs to be updated. We accept changes in address and purpose, else write Same Data if there are no changes. If there would changes in your NAME, DATE OF BIRTH and PLACE OF BIRTH, we will require you to fill-up a new application form and attached a photocopy of your birth certificate. You can visit the nearest Philippines Consulate Office and asked for a fingerprint card form or we will send you Fingerprint Card Form to write all personal data.   1. MY FATHER CANNOT WALK BUT HE NEEDS NBI CLEARANCE VERY BADLY. WHAT SHALL WE DO ?

-                  You may send a letter address to the Director of the NBI requesting for assistance . The Bureau will send a fingerprint technician to take fingerprint impressions of your father right in your residence.  

  1. WHEN I APPLIED FOR  NBI CLEARANCE LAST YEAR FOR LOCAL EMPLOYMENT, I WROTE 1961 AS MY YEAR OF BIRTH. THIS YEAR, I AM APPLYING FOR EMPLOYMENT ABROAD, BUT MY BIRTH CERTIFICATE FROM THE NATIONAL STATISTICS OFFICE REVEALED THAT MY YEAR OF BIRTH WAS 1962. WHAT WILL I DO WHEN I RENEW MY NBI CLEARANCE ?

-               You will be required to fill-up a new fingerprint card. Name, Date of Birth and Place of Birth are vital information and any change thereof will be our permanent record. You will also be required to attach a copy of your birth certificate.  

  1. HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO APPLY FOR AN NBI CLEARANCE ?

            a.       NBI-MANILA Applicants   -  for those without namesake, clearance certificates are released within (30) minutes. For those with namesake, their applications will be subjected to further verification, hence you have to wait for forty-eight (48) hours before clearances are released. For those who are required to go to the Quality Control Section for interview, clearances will be released one (1) hour after the interview.

            b.      NBI-KIOSK Renewal Applicants –

1.      METRO MANILA - for those without namesake, clearance certificates are released within 2-3 minutes. For those with namesake, they are advised to proceed to NBI Clearance Center in Carriedo  for further verification. Clearance will be released  the following day. For those who are required to go to the Quality Control Section for interview, clearances will be released one (1) hour after the interview.

2.      REGIONAL / DISTRICT OFFICES - for those without namesake, clearance certificates are released within the same day. For those  with namesake, they are advised to proceed to NBI Offices near their place for further verification. For those who are required for interview, clearances will be released after the interview.

    1. NBI-SATELLITE Applicants  -

 

1.      COMPUTERIZED SATELLITE OFFICE – for those without namesake, clearance certificates are released within one (1) day. For those with namesake, clearances will be released after 7 working days upon application. For those who are required for interview, they are advised to proceed to Quality Control Section at the NBI Clearance Center in Carriedo Clearances will be released one (1) hour after the interview.

 

2.       NOT COMPUTERIZED SATELLITE OFFICE – all clearances will be released after 5-7 working days upon application. For those who are required for interview, they are advised to proceed to Quality Control Section at the NBI Clearance Center in Carriedo  clearances will be released one (1) hour after the interview.

 

 

    1. NBI-REGION/DISTRICT Applicants –

 

COMPUTERIZED REGIONAL/DISTRICT OFFICE –   for those without namesake, Clearance certificates are released within one (1) day. For those with namesake, clearances will be released after 7 working days upon application. For those who are required for interview, clearances will be released after the interview.

  1. OTHER THAN THE NBI CLEARANCE CENTER IN CARRIEDO PLAZA, STA CRUZ, MANILA, WHERE ELSE CAN WE APPLY FOR NBI CLEARANCE ?

  1. I  PETITIONED TO COURT FOR CHANGE OF MY NAME AND WAS GRANTED. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF MY NEW NAME WOULD BE REFLECTED ON THE CLEARANCE EVEN IF I USED MY OLD NAME IN MY PREVIOUS CLEARANCE ?

-        You will attach a copy of the court decision on your new application. Your new name will be reflected as your true name, while your old name will appear as your alias.

  1. I HAVE A COPY OF MY NBI CLEARANCE WHICH I APPLIED ON JANUARY 12, 1990.  IN JUNE 1995, I WAS ARRESTED FOR DAMAGE TO PROPERTY THRU RECKLESS IMPRUDENCE. THE CASE WAS FILED IN COURT AND WAS DISMISSED IN 1997. PRESENTLY, I AM APPLYING FOR EMPLOYMENT ABROAD AND I AM AFRAID THAT THIS CASE WILL BE REFLECTED IN MY CLEARANCE WHEN I APPLY FOR ONE. PLEASE ADVISE ME.

-     Since your case is already dismissed, this will not be reflected on your clearance. Instead, you will be interviewed at the Quality Control Section and will be required to submit the court disposition.
